The Fishing Guides at Hook Dat Fishing Charters have been on the speckled trout bite for several weeks. The trout are big and plentiful. Right now you do not have to travel far to find nice 3 to 5-pound slabs. We have been experiencing a persistent easterly wind pushing saltwater deep into the marsh allowing the trout to get back in the marsh and stage before migrating out to more open waters for the summer. We have been putting together 3-5 man limits of speckled trout pretty regularly with some nice redfish, sheepshead, and flounder. The best bite has been on live shrimp with Four Horseman popping cork. We have also been finding nice sized trout bouncing a matrix shad on the bottom around inshore structure. The fishing is heating up and getting better as rising water temps get into the 70's.
We are a little behind on getting the fishing reports posted but will try to get at least 2 fishing reports posted a month.
