We were born and raised right here and have spent a lifetime chasing Redfish, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Flounder, Black Drum and Snapper in this place we call home “The Sportsman’s Paradise”.
We provide top notch Louisiana Inshore, nearshore, and offshore Fishing Charters. Our home base is in Shell Beach, Louisiana. We are just a short 30 minute drive from New Orleans. Our goal is to make your Louisiana charter fishing trip an experience you will never forget. You will not find another team more dedicated to making your next fishing adventure an experience you will never forget than the Hook Dat Fishing Charters Team.
Throughout spring, summer, and fall we will target several species that range from Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Tripletail, Sheepshead, and Flounder. During certain seasonal months we go offshore to target Snapper, Cobia, Grouper, and Amberjack. Starting in early spring we will focus on the southern edges of the Delacroix marsh working our way north hitting deeper marshes and channels targeting 4 primary species: Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, and Sheepshead.
As the waters warm up we will move further out chasing the bait. Chasing bait fish from Delacroix to Hopedale to Shell Beach allows us to get on some great speckled trout and redfish bites. As water temperatures continue to rise the spring time action takes us to cleaner waters in search of large schools of Speckled Trout, redfish and flounder. Once water temps reach a certain level we go further out to the outer marshes and surrounding bays and estuaries. There we target Bull Reds, Speckled Trout, flounder, black drum, and tripletail. As summer gets here we spend a lot of time in and around Shell Beach and the Biloxi Marsh as a lot of fish will move closer to inshore marshes in search of bait. We spend a lot of time scouting during our off days searching for bait fish and birds.
Diving birds such as seagulls, pelicans and loons diving for bait is a dead giveaway for finding schools of bait fish. Our scout days are spent finding bait fish and clean water to stay on fish year round. Combine good schools of bait and a strong tide, the fish will be nearby.
During certain summer months, typically late May through July, Red Snapper season opens. When Snapper season is open we have the option to run out into the Gulf of Mexico to chase Red Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Cobia, Amberjack, and Grouper. On the way back inshore we will hit a couple inshore fishing hot spots to add a little lagniappe to your trip. It is not uncommon to catch a variety of fish here in Southeast Louisiana. Check out our Louisiana Fish Species page to learn more about the species of fish we commonly catch off the coast of Louisiana.
